skip caray, son of famed broadcaster harry caray and father of chip caray, passed away in august of 2008 at the age of 68. he had called braves games for 33 years. the team wore a 'skip' memorial patch on their right sleeves for the remainder of the season, as seen on martin prado's 2009 upper deck card.
caray had achieved national recognition for his announcing thanks to the tbs superstation that broadcast braves' games nationally during their 1990's heyday. between skip on tbs and his dad on wgn, i took in a whole lot of caray in the early '90's. i am not sure, but skip and his dad may be the only father/son combo to be memorialized with patches to date.
