nice to see that the folks in italy realized that no summary of tommy's life is complete without a reference to bleeding dodger blue or his friendship with frank sinatra, although they didn't mention the big dodger in the sky. or pasta. or his opinion of kingman's performance.
it's been 16 years since lasorda was forced to retire as manager of the dodgers. since then we've had billy russell, glenn hoffman, davey johnson, jim tracy, grady little, joe torre, and don mattingly. not one of them has taken the team to the world series or, for that matter, has claimed to bleed dodger blue.
