what was it w said? "there's an old saying in tennessee — i know it's in texas, probably in tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. fool me — you can't get fooled again." awesome. classic. stupid. i laughed along with most americans. that can't happen to me.
bush was wrong. i have been fooled twice by teamsets4u. if you recall, i thought i had a handle on the 1964 dodger team set until i saw this card at a card show. teamsets4u - an awesome site, btw - doesn't include multi-team cards in its team breakdowns, and in the case of the 1964 set, they also don't include cards like the world series recaps that featured nothing but dodgers. instead, it just lists them down at the bottom.
over the past year or so, i have slowly been making my way through my vintage dodgers team needs, even knocking off some koufax cards here and there. i was certain that i had completed the 1968 and 1969 team sets, with just a few high numbers and stars left to complete the decade of the 60's. then i read night owl's blog and saw this card.
two out of the three guys on the card are dodgers, and the third is in a dodger uniform and i didn't know about this card? shame on me. for the record, teamsets4u lists this card down at the bottom of the 1969 topps page, but does indicate that the two guys are dodgers. i am even more ashamed to have missed that.
i have since purchased the bobby darwin/john miller dodger card, and i think i will go back to the source to confirm my 1950's and '60's dodger needs (and what the heck, even my 70's and early 80's) by pulling out my topps book and doing a visual inspection.
then, as roger daltry sang, "i'll get on my knees and pray...we don't get fooled again!"

Great song reference to end a FRI post!
Hey, I have that Topps book too! (as well as the '87 addendum)
Always wanted the Topps book.
Glad I could point out the card, although I know how frustrating that is.
That would make a SWEET triple signed card too. I have been filling in my Dodger "obscure" autos lately and both Miller and Darwin seem somewhat hard to find. Dean did appear for the Dodgers too, so that is the card to get signed by him if you are a Dodger fan, as he doesn't have one otherwise.
YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!
best rock 'n roll scream ever? i really wanted the mats 'bastards of young' yell to be as good, but it's not.
