dang this is cool. lance rautzhan signed and returned my card in only days!rautzhan played for the dodgers in 1977, 1978 and 1979. during the 1979 season, he was purchased by the brewers, who in turn traded him to the royals after the season ended. and that was his career. a 6-4 record with an era just under 4.
he was, however, the winning pitcher in game 2 of the 1977 nlcs against the phillies. i don't know if this game is known as the 'davalillo game', but it should be. down 5-3 with 2 outs in the 9th, the dodgers rallied back with 3 runs, sparked by a drag bunt by davalillo, the mexican league free agent. rautzhan had got bake mcbride to ground out in the bottom of the 8th, and was credited with the win.
