joe ferguson, foreground lurker

it can't be fun to be upstaged on your own baseball card, right bobby murcer? here on his 1977 topps card, murcer takes second billing to joe ferguson. ferguson played 71 games for the cardinals in 1976 after being traded in midseason from the dodgers for reggie smith. he would be traded to houston after the 1976 season, and would rejoin the dodgers midway through the 1978 campaign.

here's to you, joe ferguson - a true foreground lurker.
