dodgers team preview

no, i'm not going to get into the makeup of the team and who's going to do what and where the dodgers are going to finish.  i'm talking about sportflics and their 1987 team preview cards.  12 players jammed onto one lenticulated card.

how many of the dodgers can you name?

top left:  mike scioscia, steve sax, fernando valenzuela

top right:  reggie williams, mike marshall, mariano duncan

bottom left:  orel hershiser, franklin stubbs, matt young

bottom right:  pedro guerrero, jose gonzalez, ralph bryant

the scan primarily shows the middle guys - sax, marshall and gonzalez.

despite the best efforts of the players listed above, the dodgers showed no improvement over their 73 win 1986 season, although it was good for a 4th place finish in the nl west as opposed to 5th place in 1986.

as for 2010, well, the dodgers have never lost in the playoffs 3 years in a row.  of course, they've never made the post season 3 years in a row either.  good thing hope springs eternal!
