let's continue the trip through my steve garvey collection. we are still in the oddball binder, which contains a number of, oddly enough, oddballs.
1977 pepsi glove discs and 1978 pepsi
here are the backs
i prefer coca-cola products (prefer is not a strong enough word), but i thank pepsi for putting these things in their 'cartons' back in the late 1970's.
now for some msa discs - starting in the upper left we have a 1976 isaly's, a 1976 towne club, a 1978 pepsi (removed from its glove), and a 1978 big t disc
it's hard to tell the isaly's and the towne club apart, unless you look on the back
i can't believe i didn't order one of those pepsi shirts! then again, we were drinking shasta cola back then.
one more item for tonight - an uncut sheet of 1978 o-pee-chee cards, including garvey in the upper right
it's a darn shame that there aren't any variations on the sheet, although a young robin yount and don baylor's 1978 card are nice to have. here are the bright and bilingual backsbuddy bell and bump wills are pretty well creased, but i don't mind.

Poor Bump
I've always loved those MSA Discs. I've seen the Isaly's and Pepsi discs... along with the Crane, Holiday Inn, and Burger Chef discs. I wonder how many others are out there. How cool would it be to collect all of the Garveys (or any player for that matter)?
Fuji, There is a bunch of them. I gave about 20 differant for each redsox that was represented
Sounds like one heckuva vintage challenge.
fuji, i count 27 different discs for garvey, ranging from 1976 until 1982. i have only about six of them (i haven't shown the 1981 blank back yet, and i also have the 1977 burger chef disc that i showed in a different post). some are pretty rare, like the fbi discs (not the federal bureau of investigation, but rather fbi foods - a canadian issue).
