bobby morgan played for the dodgers in 1950, 1952 and 1953. his 1953 card is a standout thanks to the orange background, and it looks even better signed which is how mine appears these days after mr. morgan autographed it and returned it to me a couple of months ago.
morgan appeared in the 1952 and 1953 world series for the dodgers, going hitless in one at bat in each fall classic against the yankees. he was pretty consistent during his three seasons in brooklyn - he played in 67, 67, and 69 games; scored 38, 36, and 35 runs; had 45, 45, and 51 hits, and hit exactly 7 home runs in the three seasons, respectively.
the dodgers traded him to the phillies in early 1954 for dick young, who toiled in the dodger system through the 1959 season, but was never called up.
here's to you bobby morgan! thanks for signing my card!
