thanks in part to pedro guerrero's poor slide during spring training of 1986, reginald dewayne williams (not to be confused with a dodger of the next decade reginald bernard williams) made the dodgers' opening day roster. not only that, he wound up playing more games in center for the dodgers in 1986 than any other player, including incumbent kenny landreaux. fast forward twenty-some years later, and reggie williams signed some cards for me.
his 1987 donruss card (with the outfield pavilions of dodger stadium in the background)
his 1987 fleer card (with the dodger stadium seats in the background)and his 1987 topps card (with some random florida octogenarians in the background)
williams lost his roster spot in 1987 thanks to the addition of john shelby and the return of petey. he was dealt to cleveland prior to the 1988 season, and finished up his big league career with the tribe that year.
