the 1978 topps dodgers in 1994 - there was only one

with topps dropping the manager cards from the flagship in 1994, only charlie hough was left among 1978 topps dodgers.  he made his last appearance for topps in '94, and this was his card
the 46-year old hough was, for the second season, the oldest player in the national league, but with the retirements of nolan ryan and carlton fisk following the 1993 season, he was now the oldest player in the majors, period.  he posted a 5-9 record in 21 appearances, all starts.  the highlight of his season, by far, had to be his start on june 14 in st. louis.  hough threw a 5-hit, one-walk, 9-strikeout shutout that day for his 216th (and final) career victory.  hough made seven starts after that one, going 0-5 in that stretch (to finish his career with 216 losses), and following a one-third of an inning start on july 26, hough was put on the disabled list with a hip injury that would require replacement surgery.  his career that began in 1970 was finished.

with his midseason departure from the active roster, and unfortunately for me, hough did not receive a final tribute from topps in 1995.  that is just one of many cards that should have been that year, but before i get to those, there will be some from 1994 that need to be addressed.
